Searching Real Peace and Prosperity

From time immemorial as an when the divine guidance was ignored by Humans and it was replaced by man made rules and paths men never got the real prosperity and happiness. There are many people who own a lot of wealth but they lack the peace and tranquility which many think they will get once they start living a high lifestyle. The holy Quran says about these people who ignore the divine guidance "But whosoever turns away from My Message, verily for him is a life narrowed down.....[Al Quran Chapter 20 Verse 124].We see that this narrowness is in the form of various hardships be it calamities, diseases, economic recessions or lack of satisfaction in life.
If we talk about individuals there are many who instead of pondering on why there life is hard or why they are not feeling satisfied try to escape from this situation by doing suicides,a figure of USA shows suicide rate during 1990-1994, a total of 154,444 persons committed suicide in the United States;or some go for other paths like taking drugs etc to search for that peace and satisfaction in life, whereas you will not find such trends of suicides or that feel of spiritual hollowness even in a poorest country like Bangladesh where there are people  who may not have meals even for some days.
The Holy Quran says "Know that the life of this world is only play and amusement, pomp and mutual boasting among you, and rivalry in respect of wealth and children, as the likeness of vegetation after rain, thereof the growth is pleasing to the tiller; afterwards it dries up and you see it turning yellow; then it becomes straw. But in the Hereafter (there is) a severe torment (for the disbelievers, evil-doers), and (there is) Forgiveness from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure (for the believers, good-doers), whereas the life of this world is only a deceiving enjoyment.
[Al Quran 57:20]
To achieve that real peace and tranquility and calmness in life and to prosper in the hereafter there is no other way than to revert back to that guidance “Indeed, by the Remembrance of Allah do hearts find peace.” (Chapter 13, verse 28).As far as that divine path is concerned it is not something alien to the Jews or the Christians as the Quran says " "Those who follow the messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find mentioned in their own (scriptures),- in the law and the Gospel;- for he commands them what is just and forbids them what is evil; he allows them as lawful what is good (and pure) and prohibits them from what is bad (and impure); He releases them from their heavy burdens and from the yokes that are upon them. So it is those who believe in him, honour him, help him, and follow the light which is sent down with him,- it is they who will prosper."(Al-Quran Chapter 7 Verse 157).

Q: Is Islam a Religion, Culture, or Ethnity?

Question Asked by Karmen
Answered by consultant Shahul Hameed from http://www.onislam.net
Salam, Karmen.
Thank you for your question.
The first part of your question is: Is Islam a religion?
The answer is: Islam is not a religion in the usual sense. Religion is defined as "a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs."
Islam is much more than a religion as defined above. Islam is a way of life based on the guidance of God given in the books of God and the example of the prophets of God. Islam literally means "Submission" (to the One True God).
It was the religion of all the Prophets of God including the first man and Prophet Adam, the Patriarch Abraham, Moses, Jesus and last Prophet Muhammad, (peace be upon them all).
Usually religion is understood to mean a private relationship between man and God. Islam is entirely different from this kind of religion, because it is comprehensive in the sense that it involves all the aspects of life as lived by humans.
It is those who have misunderstood the nature of Islam who accuse it of being more radical than spiritual. Some who wish to apply the strategy of "divide-and-rule" to Muslim lands would like to split up the world Muslim community into sects following different "brands" of Islam.
They would speak of political Islam, fundamentalist Islam, leftist Islam, rightist Islam and so on. But such divisions have little to do with the reality of Islam. To Muslims of the world, there is only one Islam; and it is the Islam of the Quran, which Muslims believe is the word of God, and Sunnah (the Example) of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
It is the Islam believed in and followed by all the great Companions of the Prophet and his Successors and by generation after generation of Muslims the world over.
It is true that Islam covers all aspects of life, such as politics, economics and culture, as it is a divinely revealed religion that gives norms and principles that are meant to govern human life in its varied aspects.
It is for this reason the misunderstanding of Islam being political or economical arises. But the teachings of religion are applicable not only to the private sphere of human life.
For instance, religious values, such as truthfulness, altruism and equality and fraternity of all humans apply to all spheres of human activities. And can we bypass the question of equal justice to all humans in the socio-political area of human life?
In fact, Islam does not recognize any kind of separation between religion and life. It does not share the history of the separation between church and state, for everything should be dedicated to God alone.
A Muslim is required to submit himself completely and without reservation to the will of God in all his affairs.
God Almighty in the noble Quran orders Muslims to declare:
(Say, ‘My prayers and sacrifice, my life and death, are all for God, Lord of all the Worlds;) (Al-Anam 6:162)
Of course, there are religions that do not worry about the practical application of justice to the affairs of men, and promote a spirituality that is alienated from the daily lives of people.
They leave the political and economic realms entirely to the visions of human rulers or politicians who sometimes follow Machiavellian strategies.
Islam teaches that Muslims should always strive to see that justice is done at all costs. For Muslims, justice is a very high value. And it is for this reason that Muslims in different parts of the world are seen to be fighting for justice; and this is often misunderstood as extremism.
The second question is whether Islam is a culture.
From a sociological point of view, "culture" may be defined as the complex of the beliefs, morals, practices, objects and life style common to the members of a group or society.
In this sense, Islam has common cultural elements. For instance, Muslims all over the world pray five times a day as a congregation in a mosque. They do not consume alcohol or drugs; and for a whole month they fast during day time, etc.
Since Islam covers political and economic aspects of human life also, it cannot simply be called a culture. So, the answer to the question is that Islam is not just a culture; though it possesses and promotes a distinctive culture characteristics of its own.
Your next question is: Is Islam a nationality?
Nationality is usually a legal relationship between an individual and a state. The term normally signifies a geographical boundary.
Islam is transnational and its adherents are spread over different countries in different continents; they are nationals of several countries.
It is particularly noteworthy that Islam does not encourage people to be divided on the basis of the country of birth or domicile.
It is strongly opposed to the idea of nationalism, which is a vehemently passionate affinity for one's country that makes a person hate the nationals of other countries.
Yet, Islam encourages patriotism, which is genuine love for one's country. Nationalism tends to divide humans; but Islam unites humans; it preaches One God, and one humanity.
The next question is: Is Islam an ethnicity?
In the Quran, God Almighty says what means:
(People, We created you all from a single man and a single woman, and made you into races and tribes so that you should recognize one another. In God’s eyes, the most honored of you are the ones most mindful of Him: God is all knowing, all aware.) (Al-Hujrat 49:13)
The above verse makes it extremely clear that Islam would bring the entire human race under the principle of One God as it does not give any tribe, race, or nation precedence over another.
In short, people’s  ethnic identity is not all a criterion for their worth according to Islam. It should be underscored that the concept of the oneness of humanity based on the Oneness of God is central to Islam.
I hope this answers your question. Please, keep in touch.
Salam.

Recession--- some reasons and Solution

We see that capitalims and communism tried to give the world two alternate ways to Economy but both failed utterly.Islamic Economical system gives a complete model of code not just for policy makers but for individuals as well.

We see the major reason for recession is
Interest based banking
High spending (that too on credit)
Greed (buy 2 get 1 concept…or more more)
Majority of people poor and rich getting richer & richer.
Major resources in the hands of few etc

What Islam gives as alternate is
Banking on the basis of profit and loss sharing
Spending in the right way (neither become miser nor a spendthrift)
Concept of Zakath (2.5% yearly for money to flow from rich to poor)
It also encourages to give in the form of charity, soft loans etc so that underprivileged are not left alone.
Controlling Prices (like discouraging hoarding of  food etc)

Read the Holy Quran & Hadith Books like Bukhari and muslim etc to know more such rules.
Note:
For most of its 2,000 year history, Christianity not only frowned on capitalism, but banned it outright.
Exodus 22: 24-25, "If you lend money to one of your poor neighbors among my people, you shall not act like an extortioner toward him by demanding interest from him." This prohibition is repeated 22 times in the Old Testament. Proverbs 28:8 says, "He who increases his wealth by interest and overcharge amasses it for someone else who will bestow it on the poor." Psalm 15 says, "Yahweh, who can find a home in your tent, who can dwell on your holy mountain? Whoever lives blamelessly, who acts uprightly, who speaks the truth from the heart, ... who asks no interest on loans, who takes no bribe to harm the innocent. No one who so acts can ever be shaken."

How to acquire the knowledge of God?

We have already referred to countless manifestations of God around us and in our own selves, which bear witness to the fact that there is one and only one creator and Governor of this universe and it is He Who controls and directs it. These witnesses reflect the divine attributes of the creator: His great wisdom, His all-embracing knowledge, His omnipotence, His mercy, His all-sustaining power, His force major-in short, His attributes can be traced everywhere in His work. But man’s intellect and his capacity to attain knowledge have erred in observing and understanding them. These are all manifest and clear and our eyes are open to read what is writ large on the creation. But here men have erred. some have declared that there are two gods others began to profess belief in trinity, and still others succumbed to polytheism. Some began nature-worship and others divided into multifarious deities: gods of rain, air, fair, death, etc. As such, although the manifestations of God were quite clear, human reason has faltered on various counts and failed to see the reality in its true perspective. It met deception after deception and resulted in nothing but confusion of thought. We hardly need dilate here on these errors of human judgment.

Similarly, with regard to life after death men have put forward many erroneous notions; for instance, that man is reduced to dust after death and will not rise to life again; or that man is subject to a process of continuous regeneration in this very world and is punished or rewarded in the oncoming cycles of life.

Even greater difficulty arises when we come to the question of the code of life. To formulate a complete and balanced code of life that should conform to God’s pleasure merely with the help of human reason, is an extremely difficult task. If a man is equipped with the highest faculties of reason and intellect and he possesses matchless wisdom and experience of many years of deliberation, even then the chances of his formulating right views on life and existence are not very promising. And even if, after a lifelong deliberation, he succeeds in that he will still lack in the confidence that he has really discovered the truth and adopted the right path.

Although the fullest and fairest test of man’s wisdom, reason, and knowledge might have been to leave him to his own resources without any external guidance so that he those who, through their own sagacious siftings and strivings, might have reached truth and righteousness would have won success and salvation, while those not reaching them would have failed. God, how- ever, spared His human creatures such a hard test. Through His grace and benevolence He raised for mankind men from among themselves to whom He imparted the true knowledge of His attributes, revealed to them His Law and the Right Code of Living, gave them the knowledge of the meaning and purpose of life and of the life after death and thus showed them the way by pursuing which man can achieve success and eternal bliss. These chosen man are the Messengers of God-His prophets.

God has communicated knowledge and wisdom to them by means of wahy (revelation), and the book containing the Divine communications is called the Book of God, or the word of God. Now the test of man’s Wisdom and intellect lies in this: does he recognize God's Messenger after thoroughly observing his pure and pious life and carefully studying his noble and flawless teachings? The man who possesses right wisdom and sound common sense would verify truth and accept the instructions given by the Messenger of truth. If he denies the Messenger of God and his teachings, his denial would signify that he was devoid of the capacity to find out truth and righteousness. On account of this denial he would fail in his test. Such a man will never be able to discover the truth about God and His Law and the life after death.

Was Islam Spread by The Sword?

Q. How can Islam be called the religion of peace when it was spread by the sword?

Ans: It is a common complaint among many non-Muslims that Islam would not be having millions of adherents all over the world, if it had not been spread by the use of force. The following points will make it clear, that far from being spread by the sword, it was the inherent force of reason and logic that was responsible for the rapid spread of Islam.

1. Islam means peace Islam comes from the root word ‘salaam’, which means peace. It also means submitting one’s will to Allah (SWT). Thus Islam is a religion of peace, which is acquired by submitting one’s will to the will of the Supreme Creator, Allah (SWT).

2. Sometimes force has to be used to maintain peace Each and every human being in this world is not in favour of maintaining peace and harmony. There are many, who would disrupt it for their own vested interests. Sometimes force has to be used to maintain peace. It is precisely for this reason that we have the police who use force against the criminal and anti-social elements to maintain peace in the country. Islam promotes peace. At the same time, Islam exhorts it followers to fight where there is oppression. The fight against oppression may, at times, require the use of force. In Islam force can only be used to promote peace and justice.

3. Historian De Lacy O’Leary’s opinion De Lacy O’Leary in the book “Islam at the crossroad” (Page 8) gives the best reply to the misconception that Islam was spread by the sword: “History makes it clear however, that the legend of fanatical Muslims sweeping through the world and forcing Islam at the point of the sword upon conquered races is one of the most fantastically absurd myth that historians have ever repeated.”

4. Muslims ruled Spain for 800 years The Muslims ruled Spain for about 800 years. The Muslims never used the sword to force the people to convert. Later the Christian Crusaders came to Spain and wiped out the Muslims. There was not a single Muslim who could openly give the Azan, that is the call for prayers.

5. 14 million Arabs are Coptic Christians Muslims were the lords of Arabia for 1400 years. For a few years the British ruled, and for a few years the French ruled. Overall, the Muslims ruled Arabia for 1400 years. Yet today, there are 14 million Arabs who are Coptic Christians, i.e. Christians since generations. If the Muslims had used the sword there would not have been a single Arab who would have remained a Christian.

6. More than 80% non-Muslims in India The Moghuls ruled India for about a thousand years. If they wanted, they had the power of converting each and every non-Muslim of India to Islam. Today more than 80% of the population of India are non-Muslims. All these non-Muslim Indians are bearing witness today that Islam was not spread by the sword.

7. Indonesia and Malaysia Indonesia is a country that has the maximum number of Muslims in the world. The majority of people in Malaysia are Muslims. May one ask, “Which Muslim army went to Indonesia and Malaysia?”

8. East Coast of Africa Similarly, Islam has spread rapidly on the East Coast of Africa. One may again ask, if Islam was spread by the sword, “Which Muslim army went to the East Coast of Africa.”

9. Reason for Spread of Islam Even when Muslims won battles they never forced the non-Muslims to accept Islam. The behaviour, brotherhood, honesty and justice of the Muslims and the universality and practical approach of Islam were the reasons for non-Muslims to accept Islam. Islam spread a great extent by the Muslim traders and businessmen who spread in different parts of the world and whose behaviour impressed the non-Muslims.

10. Thomas Carlyle The famous historian, Thomas Carlyle, in his book “Heroes and Hero worship”, refers to this misconception about the spread of Islam: “The sword indeed, but where will you get your sword? Every new opinion, at its starting is precisely in a minority of one, in one man’s head alone. There it dwells as yet. One man alone of the whole world believes it; there is one man against all men. That he takes a sword and tries to propagate with that, will do little for him. You must get your sword! On the whole, a thing will propagate itself as it can.’

11. No compulsion in religion With which sword was Islam spread? Even if Muslims had the sword they could not use it to spread Islam because the Qur’an says: “Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from error” [Al-Qur’an: 2:256]

12. Sword of the Intellect It is the sword of intellect. It is the sword that conquers the hearts and minds of the people. The Qur’an says: “Invite (all) to the way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious.” [Al-Qur’an:16:125]

13. Increase in the world religions from 1934 - 1984. An article in Readers digest ‘Almanac’, year book 1986, gave the statistics of the increase of percentage of the major religions of the world in half a century from 1934 to 1984. This article also appeared in ‘The Plain Truth’ magazine. At the top was Islam, which increased by 235%, and Christianity had increased only by 47%. Which war took place in this century, which converted millions of people to Islam?

14. Islam is the fastest growing religion in America and Europe Today the fastest growing religion in America is Islam. The fastest growing religion in Europe is Islam. Which sword is forcing people in the West to accept Islam in such large numbers?

Prophesies of Muhammad (PBUH) in Hindu Scriptures:

1. 'A Malechha (belonging to a foreign country and speaking a foreign language) spiritual teacher will appear with his companions. His name will be Mohammed. Raja (Bhoj) after giving this Maha Dev Arab (of angelic dispostion) a bath in the Panchgavya and the Ganges water (i.e. purging him of all sins) offered him the presents of his sincere
devotion and showing him all reverence said, 'I make obeisance to thee. O ye! The pride of mankind, the dweller in Arabia, Ye have collected a great force to kill the Devil and you yourself have been protected from the malechha opponents.' (Puranas - Bhavishya Puran - Prati Sarg Part III: 3.3.5-8. Compiled by Mahrishi Vyasa, the writer of Gita and Maha Bharat and Puranas)

2. 'Ahmad acquired Shariah (religious law) from his Lord. This Shariah is full of wisdom. I receive light from him just as from the sun.' (Sama Veda, 2:6,8)

Hindu Scriptural evidence against making and worshipping idols!!!

Bhagavat Gita 7-24: "The ignorant believe that un-manifest Para Brahma (One God) incarnates or takes manifestations, because they do not completely understand My highest, immutable, incomparable, and transcendental existence."

Bhagavat Gita 7:19-21: "All those who do idol worship, All those who worship demigods are materialistic people."

Yajur Veda 3:32: "...Of that God you cannot make any images."

Yajur Veda 32:3: "God is formless and bodiless"

Yajur Veda 40:8: "All those who worship the uncreated things, they are in darkness, and you'll enter more into darkness if you worship the created things."

Rig Veda, Vol.8,1:1: "All Praise are to Him alone"

Rig Veda, Vol.6,45:16: "There is only One God, worship Him."

JESUS WAS NOT CRUCIFIED

Mention the attributes of God - Just, Forgiver, Merciful

Once the concept of Original Sin is dismantled, then the question of Crucifixion does not occur.

Jesus prayed to God not to die - Matt 26:39

Prayer was heard - Hebrews 5:7

Miracle of Jonas - Matthew12:40

Suffering is often exaggerated as death - I Cor.14:31

Resurrected bodies become spiritualized - Luke 20:34-36

Jesus was not. He ate honeycomb and broiled fish - Luke 24:36-41

Crucifixion and atonement of sins is contrary to logic - see flyer on atonement.Jesus said he came for mercy and not sacrificed - Matthew12:7,Matthew9:10-13

Why forgiveness came so late, thousands of years All disciples fled - no eyewitness - Matthew 26:56

Salvation by crucifixion is contrary to Jesus' sayings - Matthew19:16

Quran
Jesus was not crucified: 'And because of their saying (in boast), 'We killed Messiah Jesus, son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah,' - but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but the resemblence of Jesus was put over another man and those who differ therein are full of doubts. They have no certain knowledge, they follow nothing but conjecture. For surely, they killed him not' (Quran 4:157)

ORIGINAL SIN

God is All-Loving, compassionate, merciful and forgiving

Start with a practical example e.g... a father who is displeased with his son and punished him and then goes on to punish the children of his son, and then his great grandchildren, etc. Will you consider this father a loving, caring and forgiving father?

Then how can you credit God such a heinous injustice of ascribing Adam's and Eve's sin to the progeny born even after thousands of years?

Children: kingdom of God belongs to the children: Mark 10:14, Matthew 19:14. How possible if the children are born sinners?!

A son doesn't bear his father's sin, nor vice versa. 7 verses from the
Bible:

"The person who sins will die. The son will not bear the punishment for the father's iniquity, nor will the father bear the punishment for the son's iniquity; the righteousness of the righteous will be upon himself , and the wickedness of the wicked will be upon himself (Ezekiel 18:20)

Yet you say , 'the way of the Lord is not right ' O house of Israel, I will judge each of you according to his ways. (Ezekiel 33:20)

fathers shall not be put to death for their sons, nor shall sons be put to death for their fathers; everyone shall be put top death for their own sin.(Deuteronomy 24:16)

However, he did not put their children to death, but did as it is written in the law in the book of Moses, which the Lord commanded saying "fathers shall not be put to death for their sons, nor sons be put to death for their fathers , but each shall be put to death for their own sins." (II Chronicle 25:4)

In those days they will not say again, 'the fathers have eaten sour grapes , and the children's teeth are set on the edge.' But every one will die for his own iniquity ; each man who eats the sour grapes, his teeth will be et on edge. (Jeremiah 31:29,30)

But the sons of the slayers he did not put to death , according to what is written in the book of law of Moses, as the lord commanded saying, "the fathers shall not be put to death for the sons , nor the sons be put to death for the fathers ; but each shall be put to death for his own sin." (II Kings 14:6)

God will render to every man according to his deeds (Romans 2:6)

People who were described as perfect in the Bible:

Noah

……………………. Noah was a righteous man , blameless in his time ; Noah walked with God. (Genesis 6:9)

Then the Lord said to Noah , " Enter the ark, you and all your household ; for alone I have seen to be righteous before me in this time.(Genesis 7:1)

Job

There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job, and that man was blameless, upright , fearing God and turning away from evil. (Job 1:1)

So how can they be sinners and be perfect at the same time?!

Quran
Every soul shall be paid in full what it has earned.
3:25
2:286
4:164
53:38
17:15

TRINITY

The word 'Trinity' is not mentioned in the Bible

Holy ghost is angel Gabriel!!! Compare Matthew 1:18 and Luke 1:26

Verses on the Oneness of God

Trinity = Jesus is also a 'god' = disproved earlier

Trinity was formulated in the year 325 by Athanasius, an Egyption deacon from Alexandria at the Council of Nicea presided by Emporer Constantine
- Three century after Jesus gone.

Pagan influence

Jesus and Moses and all prophets proclaimed the Oneness of God:
Moses - Deut. 6:4 'Hear O Israel: the Lord, our God is one Lord'
Jesus - Mark 12:29 hear O Israel: the Lord our God is one Lord'

BIBLE GOT CORRUPTED

Set up criteria for a Book from Allah - Does any other Book besides Qur'an fulfill this criteria?

Divinely inspired?
At one place the Bible says that all Scripture is inspired (II Timothy 3:16), but Paul says in his writing: And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord... But to the rest I speak, not the Lord, Now concerning virgins I have no command of the Lord, yet I give my judgment (I Corinthians 7:10,12,25).

Also see II Timothy 4:9,13: 'Do your diligence to come shortly unto me. The cloak that I left at Troas with Carpus, when you come, bring it with you, and the books, but specially the parchments.'

No contradictions? See pages on Contradictions

All prophesies fulfilled as prophesied?

Jesus was supposed to rule the throne of David forever - Luke 1:32,33

Second coming was to take place in the life of the Disciples - Matthew 16:27,28

Paul said that second coming will be in his lifetime - I Thess. 4:16,17.

Jesus would be buried three days and three nights - Matthew 12:40
Supposedly buried on Friday (Mark 14:42), and risen on Sunday - how 3 days and 3 nights?

Preserved from corruption? see pages on contradictions, unscientific facts, etc.

Preserved from perishment?
'And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying: Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousand of his saints to execute judgment upon all...' (Jude 1:14,15)

Book of Enoch once existed and was accepted by early church fathers and had the right of a canonical book. -Encyclopedia Biblica.

So where is that book now? And where is the original Gospel preached by Jesus?

Unembarrassed to read it - I am too embarrassed to talk about it!

MUHAMMAD (PBUH) IS PROPHESIED IN THE BIBLE

Qur'an 61:6 'Isa (Jesus) son of Mary said 'O children of Israel! I am the Messenger of Allah unto you confirming the Taurat which came before me, and giving glad tiding of a messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmed (The praised one)' (Qur'an 61:6)

New Testament

And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another comforter, that he may abide with you for ever (John 14:16),

But the comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.( John 14:26)

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. (John 16:7)

Jesus said that he has to go away for the comforter to come in to the world. Can't be the Holy Ghost because the Holy Ghost was already present before and during Jesus' presence {And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost (Luke 1:41), And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying, (Luke 1:67), And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost (John 20:22)}

'However when he, the spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth for he shall not speak of himself, but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak, and he will show you things to come.'(John 16:13)

Why not Holy Ghost: Ghost=pneuma (Greek)=neutral word=it (Romans 8:16,26). The words 'which is the holy ghost' in John 14:26 are a later addition. Holy ghost=holy spirit=holy prophet (I John 4:1)

Old Testament

The illiterate prophet mentioned in the Torah

Isaiah 29:12 'And the book is delivered to him that is not learned saying, read this, I pray thee, and he said, I am not learned.'

Deut. 18:18,19 'I (God) will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. And it shall come to pass that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.'

The only prophet who came after Moses who fits this description was prophet Muhammad (pbuh) - Brethren (Gen.16:11,12 and Gen.25:18)

Ishmael was blessed by God: Gen21:13,18 - a great nation
Hijra, battle of Badr and victory
Isaiah 21:13-17

JESUS WAS NOT SON OF GOD

Jesus never explicitly said 'I am the son of God' in the complete bible.
some people quote the verse from the bible which says 'Like father like son'. Son of God should be like God. Does Jesus have the attributes of God?

What about John 3:16 which says : For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Other sons of God mentioned in the Bible

Adam - Luke 3:38 : Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.

Solomon - II Samuel 7:13,14 :-
Israel - Exodus 4:22 :- And you shall say unto pharoah, Thus said the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn

Angels - Job 1:6:- Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and satan came also among them.

2:1:- Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.

38:7 :- When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

David - Psalms 2:7:- I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, You art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

Jesus refused to be called son of God

And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, You art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ. (Luke 4:41)

He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God (Luke 9:20 )

Jesus said he is the son of man about 84 times in the gospels

'CHOSEN ONE' IS REPLACED BY 'SON OF GOD' e.g.,

And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.(John 1:34)

REASONS GIVEN BY CHRISTIANS TO CALL JESUS AS GOD

Ø BORN WITHOUT FATHER

Ø MIRACLES

Ø RISEN TO HEAVEN

Birth without Father:

And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked? (Genesis 18:23)

Similarity to Adam (Qur'an 3:59)

MIRACLES

Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:(Acts 2:22)

Giving life to dead

Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. (John 11:21)

Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself? (John 1:22)

This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. (Acts 2:32)

The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. (Acts 5:30)

Others apart from Jesus who were risen to heaven

And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him. (Genesis 5:24)

And the time that David was king in Hebron over the house of Judah was seven years and six months. (2nd Kings 2:11)

Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God: (John 8:54)

And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 16:17)

Idol worship is going on in the Christian community in different forms:

Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. (Jeremiah 17:5)

in the view of the above verse, Jesus also come under the term man and flesh. For example:

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; (1st Timothy 2:5)

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (John 1:14)

And they fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation? (Numbers 16:22)

JESUS (PBUH) WAS NOT GOD

start with the Attributes of God: All-Mighty, All-Knowing, Eternal, Independent. Then apply these attributes to Jesus and see if he qualifies...

God is All-Mighty...Jesus was not
'I can do nothing on my own authority; as I hear, I judge; and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of Him who sent me' (John 5:30)

God is All-Knowing...Jesus was not
Speaking of the last day Jesus said: 'But of that day or that hour knows no man, neither the angels, nor the son, but only the father' (Mark 13:32)

God has no Beginning...Jesus was born
...'She brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name Jesus' (Matthew 1:25)

God doesn't have a God...Jesus did
Jesus said: 'And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you hast sent.' (John 17:3)

God doesn't pray to anyone...Jesus did
'And he (Jesus) went a little farther, and fell on his face (sujud) and prayed.' (Matt.26:39)

God is immortal...But not Jesus
Jesus was supposedly crucified according to the Christians. God died!!! The whole world will utterly collapse if that happens!!!

Jesus never said 'I am God, worship me.'

Jesus Always called people towards Allah (Yehova):

And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord. (Mark 12:29)

And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, satan: for it is written, You shall worship the Lord thy God, and him only shall you serve (Luke 4: 8)

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. (Matthew 6:24)

Jesus said unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. (John 20:17)

Jesus always worshipped Allah

Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened. (Luke 3:21)

And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed. ( Mark 1: 35)

And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. (Luke 6:12)

And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. (Mark 14:35)

And again he went away, and prayed, and spake the same words. ( Mark 14:39)

And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. (Luke 22:44)

Jesus preached his followers to worship Allah

But you, when you prayest, enter into thy closet, and when you hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. (Matthew 6:6)

And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. (Luke 11:2-4)

Jesus always glorified Allah

Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dump to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel. (Matthew 15:31)

And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion. (Mark 2:12)

Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the Gospel. (Mark 1:14, 15)

Qur'an

Surely, they disbelieve who say Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary.
( Qur'an 5:72)

Surely disbelieves are those who said Allah is the third of the three.
( Qur'an 5:73)

Jesus said he came not to destroy the law of Moses, but to fulfill it - Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. Matthew 5:17-19

Said he came only for the lost sheep of Israel - But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Matthew 15:23,24

'And We have sent you (Muhammad) not but as a mercy for the Alamin (Mankind, Jinns and all that exists)' Qur'an 21:107

JESUS (PBUH) WAS A PROPHET OF ALLAH

Jesus said he is a Prophet. This can be clearly seen in the following verses from the Bible:

Jesus referring to himself said

"...a Prophet is not without honor, save in his own country, and in his own house" (Matthew 13:57)

But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house. (Mark 6:4)

They say unto the blind man again, What sayest you of him, that he hath opened thine eyes? He said, He is a Prophet. (John 9:17)

People around him considered him as Christ

When Herod the King had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. And when he had gathered all the chief priests and Scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. (Matthew 2:3,4)

I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I Judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. John 5:30

Quranic references of his Prophet – hood

Ø The Messiah (Jesus) son of Mary, was no more than a messenger. (Al Qur'an 5:75)

Ø And remember when Isa (Jesus) the son of Maryam said: "O children of Israel! I am the Rasool of Allah towards you, confirming the Torah which came before me, and to give you good news of a Rasool that will come after me whose name shall be Ahmed (another name of Muhammad, meaning 'The praised one')."
